Rubber Duckie RACE 2009 winnings shared between PMVF and St. Paul's on the Hill Food Bank When Mayor Dave Ryan's rubber duck finished first in the big race at the Fall Family Festival at Pickering Museum Village two community organizations won. The Mayor donated his windfall to PMVF and St. Paul's on-the-Hill Community Food Bank. With the assistance of the Ontario Historical Society, the Pickering Museum Village Foundation was born. Our first project was the reconstruction of the Puterbaugh home, donated by Louise Parkes and family. The early 1800s building became the museum village's schoolhouse and is available for rent for small meetings and weddings by calling 905.683.8401. PMVF is pleased to partner with the City of Pickering and support the museum village as Durham's foremost heritage centre.
The mandate and goals of the Foundation are:
	to assist Pickering Museum Village in major restoration projects to assist with the acquisition, restoration, maintenance, recording and care of all artifacts of the site to generate an endowment fund to support the future restoration, research, and display needs of Pickering Museum Village to assist Pickering Museum Village in the development and presentation of educational programmes 97 percent of funds raised by PMVF go into restorations at the museum village The Foundation has NO paid staff Membership forms can be downloaded and mailed with your cheque or Pickering Museum Village Foundation now offers memberships and dontations through PayPal
